'Don’t be that kind of neighbor!': New homeowner confronts entitled neighbor for letting guests park in his driveway, he puts up his own no parking sign

Imagine being welcomed into your new neighborhood, only to discover that your neighbor wants to continue using your driveway as her personal parking lot. Some welcome!

There is something to be said for neighbors extending occasional acts of generosity to one another. If one neighbor is throwing a party and requests access to your driveway for a one time thing, maybe that would be acceptable. However, to assume that you would be ok with that happening on a regular basis is an audacious display of entitlement. 

Thankfully, it seems that this new homeowner has dealt with people like this before. He knew from the moment his neighbor suggested that she was going to be doing this that he needed to nip this idea in the bud immediately. So before things got worse, he told her, in so many words, that there was no way he was going to give up his driveway for her guests. Let's just say that she did not take it well…

  • The most amusing part of the story has to be the “no parking” sign that the author put up immediately after the confrontation with his entitled neighbor. Talk about a nice touch that really solidifies the point. You can almost picture this lady's reaction when she saw the sign the following day. It's giving temper tantrum! Good luck to the folks in her family who now have to listen to her complain about this guy day in and day out.
